Soul Retrieval

The Free Soul
  • Because a portion of the soul is free to leave the body, it will do so when dreaming, or to protect itself from potentially damaging situations, either emotional or physical -and in situations of trauma the soul piece may not return to the body on its own.

Reasons for the Soul's Departure
  • Abuse (sexual, emotional, physical): At times, in an abusive situation, a part of the soul may leave the body in order to protect itself.

  • Excessive use of drugs or alcohol

  • Accident: If a traumatic accident or impact is about to occur, the soul may leave in order to protect itself from the accident

  • Loss: During times of mourning, part of the soul might leave until the person is ready to deal with their grief.

  • If you give your soul to someone non-intentionally: Lovers, mother to child, etc. This may seem acceptable because of the persons desire to share themselves with another, but it is generally not a good idea to do this. An individual cannot use another persons soul, because it is simply not theirs. When you do this, you dis-empower yourself; it is a lose lose situation.

  • Soul stealing or borrowing: Stealing can be innocent; For example, if you are afraid of losing someone, you might want to take a piece of that person so you will always have a piece of him/her nearby. Stealing can also be destructive; For instance, soul stealing may be seen where an abusive spouse has taken his or her partners soul. When you take someones soul, you take some of that person's power.

  • It is important to note that no one can take your soul without your consent!

  • In some cases, the soul may depart on its own. But if it does not realize how to return, or if it does not know that it is safe to return, the shaman may need to assist the return of that missing piece.

Soul Retrieval will be most useful if you suffer from any of the following:

  • Feelings of depression

  • A feeling of being incomplete

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or similar symptoms

  • Inability to move past an issue despite efforts to do so

  • Feeling like you've done everything you can do but are still stuck

  • Feeling disconnected from life

  • Incidents in your past where you feel as if you've lost something and never gotten it back

  • A sense as if someone took a part of your heart away and you've never been the same since (death, separation, etc)

  • You keep wanting to return to a person or place that seems unhealthy or unlikely

  • Lost memories, as if part of your history is missing

What happens after the Soul Retrieval?

  • There is no knowing what may happen as the result of a soul retrieval. In a few cases a person may literally experience a complete turn around of their life to a more joyful way of being. In some cases it begins a process of changes that take time to fully emerge. And also, there are some people who feel that not much really happened as a result of a soul retrieval.

The Soul's Return

  • Some of the benefits that have been experienced by people who have received a soul retrieval include: A greater ability to make decisions in life, a sense of being more present in their life, the ability to move past an issue that you could not move past before, the beginning of a new growth or healing process, an ability to begin dealing with grief, etc.

  • Each person is unique and will experience different results from their soul retrieval. Some soul retrieval practitioners will tell you what gifts are returning more fully to you with the return of a specific part of yourself. For instance the return of your ability to hope, or to have confidence in yourself.

  • Perhaps the soul retrieval was just the last of a missing piece in your healing process. If the soul retrieval is to be effective you must listen to yourself. You must care for yourself as you would a newborn, and give yourself whatever you find is needed now that the gift of you has been received.
